Botnets aren't something new but the recent announcement from Yahoo that over a 4 day period in January, malware was served in ads that turned the infected computer into a node in a distributed bit mining botnet are something never seen before. The number of infected computers hasn't been reported but the rewards to the malware developers could be up to $100,000 a day.
